January
January is the
annual Palmetto Dunes Winter Cup - Men's and Women's Tennis Doubles at the Palmetto Dunes
Tennis Center.
Winter Carnival JAN 1- FEB 28:
Sponsored by Hilton Head Hospitality Association and several local area businesses.
Includes an evening of jazz, a food and wine tasting, special kayaking tours, a black tie
opera performance, big band concert, an art exhibit, beach tours, and road races. For more

February
February is the
annual Native Islander Gullah Celebration - a celebration of the Lowcountry's Gullah
Heritage.
Native Islander
Gullah Celebration FEB 3-25th: Showcases the arts, music, food,
and lifestyle of the area's native sea islanders. Participants also
learn about the Gullah culture through a Freedom Day Celebration
with poetry readings, music, and historical presentations. For more

March
March is
Springfest on the island - offering island wide activities all month such as the annual
Chocolate Fair at Coligny Plaza & the Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Series
of month long, island wide events celebrating spring as the unofficial welcome of the
coming season. Includes: Chocolate Fair, Wine Fest, Health Fest, Wing Fest, and Sweet
Tastes. Special art Demonstrations, kayak clinics, and tours, road races, golf and tennis
tournaments, and musical concerts.
Youth Arts Fest: A day -long event
sponsored by the Self Family Arts Center, features children's choirs, kid art, and
activities just for youngsters.

Each year
Hilton Head Island plays host to the Heritage of Golf. Played on the Harbour Town Golf
Links since 1969. It is a special time of year and the island is in all its glory. (Harbour
Town Golf Links). Best names in golf compete for the coveted plaid jacket. Televised
nationally.

Throughout
the month of May the Bravo Arts Festival offers month long arts, history and cultural
activities: Outstanding Arts, History, Cultural Activities, Great Entertainment,
Local Galleries, Performers, Historians, Entertainers, and more all month in the Hilton
Head and Bluffton.
8th - The
Bluffton Village Festival: Features arts and crafts vendors, barbecue,
the Ugly Dog Contest, and the Episcopal Church of the Cross Bazaar.
All Saints Annual Garden Tour:
Features a potpourri of local gardens, lunch, arts and crafts bazaar, bake sale, which all
benefits local children.
Family Fiesta Latina: Self Family
Arts Center spotlights a daylong celebration of Latin American music, food, and
dancing.
June
June through
August features Summer Entertainment such as daily outdoor entertainment at Harbour Town
in Sea Pines with Gregg Russell, Shannon Tanner at the Shelter Cove Marina and the Kiosk
Stage area in Coligny Plaza. Harbourfest 2003 - Tuesday nights at Shelter Cove Marina
features live entertainment, food, spirits, and arts and crafts displays. Fireworks go off

One week in June
features the Week of Champions - Sports clinic for children, involving professional
athletes and Celebrity Golf Tournament.
Murder at the Mansion Dinner
Theater, Port Royal Club House: Continues through summer. For more information and

July
July Fourth Celebrations:
Celebrations take place waterfront at Harbour Town, Shelter Cove Harbour, and Skull Creek
Marina. Food, music, arts, and crafts, magic shows and face painting for children.

Packet Firecracker 5000 Road Race, Shelter Cove: Brings runners from all over the country

Beaufort County Water Festival:
Celebrates the Low Country's bond with the sea and water activities, entertainment,
parade, sports events that take place in Beaufort. For more information

Fest, Shelter Cove Harbour: Sponsored by Hilton Head Hospitality
Association bringing the island's restaurants together to allow
the community to sample specialties from several local eateries.
Beverages, music, and concerts.

features the Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament and the Annual FoodFest - with over 30
island restaurants serving a variety of foods, beverages, music as well as children's
entertainment at the Shelter Cove Marina. Annual island tradition with celebrities
golf for charity. Brings in stars of television, film, music,, and sports to benefit local

October
Evening of the Arts: Fund raising
event for which dozens of local artists donate works to be sold at a live auction. The
event benefits Island School Council.
All Women's Fishing Tournament
sponsored by Palmetto Bay Marina .
Annual Chili Cook-off, Shelter
Cove Harbour: Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head, features both local
professionals, restaurants, and amateur recipes in the competition.

Christmas Parade
An
Annual Holiday Tour of Homes is a tradition on the island. Christmas
Caroling rides sponsored by Sea Pines Recreation.
Reindeer Classic
Tennis Tournament at Sea Pines Racquet Club.
Jingle Bell
Run: A 5K, 10K or 3 mile walk sponsored by Hilton Head Sports and
Medicine and Sun City Hilton Head.
